Obama Timeline.

This political cartoon shows Obama and an Elephant, which represents the republicans. On the top part of the political cartoon there is the year 2008 with Obama holding up a change sign and the elephant just staring at Obama. The top part represents when Obama was elected as president and he had promised America change. The republican had just stood on the side because they knew Obama was sweeping America in ways they thought he would not. The next box shows the year 2010 and the sign "Change" being taken away from Obama by the elephant. During Obama's presidential term he has not brought much change to America and the nation was paying for it through harsh economy and tough times. The republicans basically took over the government, with majority of republican members. Now there is a struggle between Obama trying to have re-election and the republicans taking away what Obama had promised America. The republicans do not believe in many of the things Obama does and neither wants him to continue through to another term. So republicans are trying to do everything to make sure Obama is not re-elected in 2012.

Government Shutdown.

This political cartoon tries to depicts an old man sitting down in front of the television watching out for whether or not the government will shut down. If the government decides to shut down then social security will be cut off and seniors or retirement will not receive their retirement money. For older people they base their financial income from the money they obtain from Social Security. There are two nurses near the old man known as Herb. They are trying to say in a way that by the time government actually shuts down he would no longer be there or that by the government shutting down he would go through a breakdown. Either way without the support of the government the federal government will not be able to give social security money to the old people. People are afraid of what might happen to America if the government actually decides to shut down since the budget deficit problems have not been solved.
